It feels like the week before black Friday around holiday time. All these useful pieces staring us in the face and we are firmly looking beyond that to when we can get two for one sales. So with only 10 shopping days left til the double transferring smart rather than with your gut is the best strategy. Now that the possibility exists of a Mo Salah injury it throws a monkey wrench in to the best laid plans of FPL men. Do you stick or twist? As we wait for the news to come out the rankings here reflect a tentative idea of who will do well this week, the not so well aren’t listed because we are only interested in the cream of the crop. The Derby weekend is here so get ready for some preemptive double game week love as we jump two feet into game week 33 of the FPL. Cheers! Please, blog, may I have some more?
The things associated with this week all have curious ties to the number seven …and Liverpool. So if Liverpool is Snow White than the other dudes this week are the feeble dwarfs. Seventh seal, Seven deadly sins, Un-Magnificent seven… you get the point yet? Good cause I was running out of cliche things with 7 in them. The talk around the FPL universe is whether or not it is advisable to using the free hit chp in order to have a fighting roster of 11 players. With another blank game week, with better teams to pick and choose from, my answer would be no. Plus with two doubles on the horizon saving all your chips til a later date seems like the best advice I can give. Rankings, is the other thing I can do for ya. Mow your lawn maybe. It is all ‘Pool all week this week as they face a Watford squad that is going to give up some goals whether they like it or not. So from a only have to choose from 8 teams approach, get to 8 players and concentrate on teh front 5-7 players as the clean sheet looks bleak in most cases. Here are the week 31 blank week rankings for FPL, happy hunting on transfers. Cheers! Please, blog, may I have some more?
Well my friends that time of the year is here. The time where better judgment and guessing when and how to use your chips. There is no right/wrong way to use them and anyone who says you are doing it wrong is a doo-doo head. Tell ’em Smokey said so. Game week 31 is the elite of the elite, and by elite I mean Liverpool and 7 other teams that are a fantasy cesspool of blah. But unfortunately you can only use the utensils that are on the table, so we will call them the sorta-magnificent eight. Eight is also a special number for roster building. It is the number you should shoot for if you don’t have or want to use your chips. getting to eight non-blanking players allows you to hide injured stars (Aguero and Kane) and one other player that the investment value for your team makes the most sense. Having three players that don’t even take pitch in week 31 isn’t the worst thing after burying your investment pieces on the bench. the answer to that last part is tw f0old. How much value is someone going to get by fielding 11 players, which is basically 8 because we all will have three liverpool players? Zero. the match-ups and teams are not there from a team building to risk using a free-hit and using a wildcard with this lot is just not in the cards. Keep it simple. Get to 8 and call it a day. So here are the best three options of the seven other teams this week. Liverpool is completely up to your discretion. Cheers and good luck on transfers. Please, blog, may I have some more?
are more of the subtle yet deadly variety. Why? Because of the elite fixture that lies ahead this weekend between Liverpool and City. It is tough to have tons of faith in two teams that are both FPL stalwarts like they are. They basically neutralize each other on both ends of the pitch. Liverpool has the best home defense is the league, and City just score anywhere. City are a top 5 defensive team on the road and Liverpool score more at home. It is like one hand washing the other this week. All are still startable options this week as the money, ownership and transfer fees associated with making a one week move based on match-up just doesn’t make too much sense to this guy. So be heady this week, don’t compound the DGW fiasco from last game week and make it worse and bury yourself further down the well. So happy transferring this week and enjoy the next two weeks of transfer rumors. Here are the week 23 rankings for the FPL. Cheers! Please, blog, may I have some more?
We’re once again giving you our loves and hates for each week in a segment called “Start ‘Em and Sit ‘Em”. You should know the drill, but if you don’t, we pick one option from each position. Pretty cut and dry, and quite simply… basic. It is more based on my feelings and gut approach for the week’s upcoming and changes from week-to-week. I look at match-ups and form to formulate my craziness. It’s like musical chairs, without all the screaming kids and regretful feeling of loss. So sit back, relax, and have a look at who we would start and sit based on match-ups and value. It’s Fantasy Premier League Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em, Week 16 (plus a sleeper/under-owned fella that should be owned and isn’t.)Please, blog, may I have some more?
Another week, another Champions league conundrum weighing over our ranking/transfer heads. Have no fear though, as this is the end of UCL for a few weeks so we can now get down to brass tacks. The FPL money is made with getting the right captain right, and getting lucky with your front 6,7, or even 8. We all can’t be lucky every week that all our players strike gold and find the net, but it would be nice and fantastic if they did. The December slate is a tough one to gauge for some middling teams and we can start to see what fixtures are ripe for the picking as we set up for the first DGW in Week 22. Stay in the here and now though and use those transfers wisely, taking a -4 isn’t the end of the world if it is a move for a differential. Don’t chase points on the most transferred in guys…stay the course basically. To help you with your course here are the week 16 FPL rankings for Forwards and Midfielders. The whole hub-bub this week will be to take a minus or not. I don’t care what other research of quadratic jargon that you peruse on a daily basis, that is the only question that matters. The quick answer here is do what you think is right by your team in setting yourself up to compete in Week 29. That is the more important question. This week is basically a wash and everyone, and I mean everyone is either working at a disadvantage to get a starting XI, or will take a minus to get there. The run out is more important than a four game slate that features a less then attractive depth solution to this week’s problem. Get your team to 9 and then if you want 10 at a minus 4, go for it. If not, relax, be on top of your team for Week 29 so you can bring in Kane or Costa. You can think about midfield with Hazard and Sanchez and defensively you should be all set and gambling with the guys who get you through Week 28 until you are ready to wildcard. I am no genius in this, it is all common sense. Don’t play follow the leader, play the I own my own FPL team game. Here are the sexy rankings for Week 28. Cheers! Please, blog, may I have some more?
In a perfect world, I could drop these on you last minute, right before gametime kick-off,s and have them be just as effective. Unfortunately, we can’t do that because the FA Cup fixtures get in the way and mess things. So posting the rankings pre-FA Cup is a dangerous and possibly a worthless venture, but I am doing it anyways. Take in mind that the games over this weekend will impact what happens in the FPL fixture on Tuesday and Wednesday. Injuries, new transfers and just plain bad luck do happen. I mean, I just finished my weather controlling device, so now my attention will turn to the prediction of all things fantasy. So take these with a grain of salt, and use some common sense when it comes time to use your transfers. Waiting is usually the best advice. Cheers! Please, blog, may I have some more?
When is being too offensive too offensive? This is fantasy, so anything goes really. I mean, the term fantasy and play goes as far as to include Magic the Gathering and D&D. So with loose terms come loose terminology. I read that on a fortune cookie the other day. So make fun of the machine that wrote that, not me. But is stacking your offense too much off a good thing? I say hell no! However, if you wanna spend your allotted money, be my guest. This week sees four of the top fantasy producing teams; Arsenal, United, Chelsea and Liverpool, all with favorable fixtures that are most certainly (or we hope) to give some fantasy goodness. So with thinking positive thoughts and some luck for all, here are the Week 22 Fantasy Premier League Rankings. Cheers! Please, blog, may I have some more?
