Well, competition makes the world go round, though I’m pretty sure gravity and some other scientific stuff that I won’t even attempt to spell.  So here at Razzball we are all about fun, and making fantasy fun.  So we are running a Razzball EPL league starting in Week 13 of the Premiership season.  This will be a from the start of that week ’til the end of the season.  It’s winner takes all in the classic format, with total points determining the utmost supreme being of EPL fantasy.  We are running it on, and will be using the basic format that anyone has played in that league set-up is familiar with.  So for the ones that aren’t here are the basic rules:

Squad Size

To join the game select a fantasy football squad of 15 players, consisting of:

  • 2 Goalkeepers
  • 5 Defenders
  • 5 Midfielders
  • 3 Forwards

The total value of your initial squad must not exceed £100 million.

Players per team

You can select up to 3 players from a single Premier League team.

How to join:

League name is Razzball EPL

Passcode:  1857823-708547

The best part of the whole thing  will be competing with everyone that reads the site, whether that be five people or 100, it’s fun to go against people with the same passion and fantasy EPL enthusiasm.  Second best part is that it’s free, and we are arranging a prize based on participation in the league, so come on and join up.  Talk trash, support your club and most importantly have fun.

    OK, I’m in!

Team name: Sam Allardyce’s Gum (because I figure to get vigorously chewed up by this competition)…

@Art Deco: Just keep reading the rankings and all the coverage here. Don’t forget we’ll answer any and all question you post in the comments.

  2. Art Deco says:

No worries. I’m actually somewhat experienced at EPL fantasy (despite being an American who never played the game IRL), but had been taking this year off due to technical issues (ie. Yahoo’s annual early-season screw-up was even worse than usual). I’ve played the FPL version in the past and generally like the format, although I’m not a huge fan of the limited moves approach. Will be a good way to dip a toe in this year. Cheers!

      Ralph Lifshitz says:

@Art Deco: I think you’ll see that the EPL format is superior. The goal with this format is too buy long term and sell at the right times. Your team gains value as your players do. In Yahoo you can buy all the new transfers the first few weeks for pennies on the dollar but can’t replace them in off weeks due to cups etc.

Example: I had Ozil last year in Yahoo at £6.3 and had to sell him December at fraction of the cost. In EPL good buys gain value ,and give you more £ to play with when it’s time to transfer them out. If you play your cards right your team will have a value of £108-115 pounds by end of season. The goal is to buy to increase your kitty.

      @yellowman: Great! Good luck…

  4. So, do we just go with our team that we currently have or do we pick an entirely new team?

I am hoping for the latter but can’t figure out how to add another team.

    • Ralph Lifshitz

      Ralph Lifshitz says:

@Turd Ferguson: Week 13 you’ll be able to pick a new team. It’s not available because the pricing for week 13 (the starting point) is not yet known.
