The second installment of rankings is sometimes the favored.  Because who doesn’t like to score or assist to score.  In almost any format that last sentence holds sway.  But for now let’s just skip the images in your head and talk about the meat and potatoes of the FPL weekly rankings.  These fellas are more reliant on goals, assists and the BPS to drive them over the top.  So with match-ups, form and common sense as the wind to their ranking sail the list is based on just those three things.  So look at the schedule, trust the form and pray that I have some common sense when ranking these players.  Here are the Week 3 rankings for the midfielders and forwards in the FPL. Cheers!

  1. Christian Eriksen, Spurs
  2. Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Man United
  3. Sadio Mane, Liverpool
  4. David Silva, Man City
  5. Paul Pogba, Man United
  6. Dele Alli, Spurs
  7. Kevin de Bruyne, Man City
  8. Mo Salah, Liverpool
  9. Michail Antonio, West Ham
  10. Mesut Ozil, Arsenal
  11. Pedro, Chelsea
  12. Dusan Tadic, Southampton
  13. Jese, Stoke
  14. Aaron Mooy, Huddersfield
  15. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Arsenal
  16. Willian, Chelsea
  17. Gylfi Sigurdsson, Everton
  18. Riyad Mahrez, Leicester
  19. Nathan Redmond, Southampton
  20. Richarlison, Watford
  21. Alexis Sanchez, Arsenal
  22. Matt Phillips, West Brom
  23. Anthony Martial, Man United
  24. Andre Ayew, West Ham
  25. Chris Brunt, West Brom
  • First thing is Alexis is iffy.  Ranked at 20 tentatively.
  • Love the consistency of Eriksen and Mkhitaryan.  Assists are just as sexy when they come in multiples.
  • Michail Antonio is my pick of the week, so if you are sick of me talking about him too bad.
  • Sneaky plays this week are Nathan Redmond and Richarlison who have both been getting shots just no results.
  • Like Salah this week…love Mane.
  • City midfielders are tough to rank.  Good fixture but bad form, and pricey as all get out.

  1. Romelu Lukaku, Man United
  2. Harry Kane, Spurs
  3. Sergio Aguero, Man City
  4. Alvaro Morata, Chelsea
  5. Roberto Firmino, Liverpool
  6. Alexandre Lacazette, Arsenal
  7. Chicharito, West Ham
  8. Gabriel Jesus, Man City
  9. Christian Benteke, Crystal Palace
  10. Steve Mounie, Huddersfield
  11. Tammy Abraham, Swansea
  12. Wayne Rooney, Everton
  13. Troy Deeney, Watford
  14. Manolo Gabbiadini, Southampton
  15. Jamie Vardy, Leicester
  • Lukaku by game time could be owned in 60% of leagues.  That’s almost 3 million owners.
  • Harry you lovely beast, just set your calendar to September and realize that you have Burnley at home.  Good things are coming this week.  Regardless after the break I am buying!
  • If not now when for the City forwards.  Big investment and minimal returns.  After the break is when or where we all start to look at them again I think.
  • I am expecting some goals in the Pool/ Arsenal match.  3-2 is my prediction… I am just not saying which way.
  • Love Chicharito during this stretch for the hammers.  Brace last week can only help momentum.
  • Wayne Rooney loves the big game… I don’t care what people hold against him.
  • I think Leicester get gobbled up by the United defense and render Vardy useless.
