Oh, Week 4 you young and burdening beast. ¬†The season has just started and we are already questioning the judgments that we made yet a month ago. ¬†No worries though faithful followers of the Razz. ¬†Each week is almost like a new beginning if you had a wildcard to use at your discretion every week. ¬†The rankings of midfielders and forwards is blossoming into a conundrum right before our very eyes. ¬†We planted it in the summer, watched the transfer window closed and now that the shop is closed this is where we are. ¬†18 more weeks until roster shake-ups again (if any) and the inevitable new wildcard. ¬†So if you haven’t used your first wildcard yet, bene. ¬†You have more restraint then most of the 5 million other players of this game. ¬†So here are the rankings for the midfielders and forwards for week 4, regardless of wildcard. ¬†Cheers! Please, blog, may I have some more?
I was going to write the day of the transfer window, but beer and holiday weekend gets in the way of productivity. ¬†So if you have been waiting with baited breathe for the transfer Tuesday news then, well, breath again my friends. ¬†We are now at a what you see is what you get roster situation until the January window. ¬†In between that is a plate full of 18 games that stretch out to the new year. ¬†If you started out blah and haven’t wild-carded yet… what are you waiting for? ¬†Setting up your team for the next four-five games is important and will make or break your attention span of your team from the later part of the year. ¬†Take advantage of the next few days, build the value of your team and get that accumulated value of your team close to 101.5. ¬†Transfer Tuesday is about fun with some views on what’s what so take what I have to say not as scripture but more as a holding your hand as we cross the FPL street. ¬†Happy transferring! ¬†Cheers! Please, blog, may I have some more?
The second installment of rankings is sometimes the favored. ¬†Because who doesn’t like to score or assist to score. ¬†In almost any format that last sentence holds sway. ¬†But for now let’s just skip the images in your head and talk about the meat and potatoes of the FPL weekly rankings. ¬†These fellas are more reliant on goals, assists and the BPS to drive them over the top. ¬†So with match-ups, form and common sense as the wind to their ranking sail the list is based on just those three things. ¬†So look at the schedule, trust the form and pray that I have some common sense when ranking these players. ¬†Here are the Week 3 rankings for the midfielders and forwards in the FPL. Cheers! Please, blog, may I have some more?
Titles are the window to the articles soul. ¬†So unless you are incapable of seeing an actual soul it is fairly cut and dry here. ¬†Every week I look at the match-up, form and ownership of players, mix that with some common sense and a sprinkle of my own general “expertedness” and formulate a ranking system for you to use at home to help you build your FPL team from a week-to-week basis. ¬†Sounds pretty simple, I mean the hardest thing you have to do is argue with them and actually read it. ¬†So without further hullabaloo, here are the Week 3 rankings for the FPL, keepers and defense! Please, blog, may I have some more?
Listen, I pay attention to the masses going crazy on the Twitter-verse. ¬†We all do as proactive owners of an FPL franchise, but this Wildcard already stuff is ludicrous. ¬†Not the rapper either. ¬†There are so many factors that apply to this that it shouldn’t even be an option. ¬†First, it is only Week 3 my friends, chill. ¬†A minus 4 or even a minus 8 for a one game situation (which Week 3 is) is a far better alternative than using the wildcard. ¬†The second and third reasons divulge further into it… so patience. ¬†Second, the international break is one week away, which makes this a one week payoff. ¬†What does it hurt to wait… nothing! ¬†If anything, more knowledge and news will aide in your quest for a perfect line-up. ¬†Lastly, the transfer window in real life ends when there is a break. ¬†That is it shut off the lights, what we have is what we play with. ¬†It brings names back into the foray like Coutinho, Hazard, Alexis and maybe some unknown. ¬†As sexy as it sounds to start over now, because your point returns aren’t up to snuff, just don’t. ¬†Wait it out. ¬†We still will have 35 weeks to play, which if you play it out right, is a ton of time to achieve top 10k or beyond status. For some S’s and G’s here are some keen transfer ideas for Week 3 of the FPL. ¬†Cheers! Please, blog, may I have some more?
It’s Tuesday. ¬†It means knee jerk reactions and total punting for Week 2 of the FPL season. ¬†¬†I am truly only half-kidding, but people involved in the chase gonna chase regardless. ¬†Especially with the first few price changes in the books already. ¬†Everyone wants that shiny new bargain toy for a penny cheaper then they just had it. ¬†So with the first Transfer Tuesday post of the year, Smokey is here to guide you down the trail of transfer ideas that may be a little off beat or because I am seeing something that you didn‚Äôt. ¬†Four eyes are better than two, especially when people who are making transfers this early in the week, and making the market climb on a Tuesday. ¬†I don‚Äôt get it, but people get nervous and make irrational decisions, messing it up for everyone else. ¬†So while we live the rational transfer life, here are some transfer ideas for maybe a few days down the road to set yourself up for next week‚Äôs set of matches. ¬†Cheers! Please, blog, may I have some more?
We‚Äôre once again giving you our loves and hates for each week in a segment called ‚ÄúStart ‚ÄėEm and Sit ‚ÄėEm‚ÄĚ.¬† You should know the drill, but if you don‚Äôt, we pick one option from each position. ¬†Pretty cut and dry, and quite simply‚Ķ basic. ¬†It is more based on my feelings and gut approach for the week‚Äôs upcoming and changes from week-to-week. ¬†I look at match-ups and form to formulate my craziness. ¬†It‚Äôs like musical chairs, without all the screaming kids and regretful feeling of loss.¬†So sit back, relax, and have a look at who we would start and sit based on match-ups and value. It‚Äôs¬†Fantasy Premier League Start ‚ÄėEm, Sit ‚ÄėEm, Week 1 (plus a sleeper/under-owned fella that should be owned and isn‚Äôt).Please, blog, may I have some more?
When perusing the the list and prices of forwards, it is easy to wanna shop exclusively at the posh department stores. ¬†But the prices of them will limit the ability to have more than two. ¬†Is two enough, sure, but when isn’t three the magic number? ¬†They allow you to roster three, so why not take full advantage of what they are giving you and add that to your fantasy tool belt? ¬†With the entire world rostering or having their hand in on Lukaku (48% owned) at ¬£11.5, ¬†Kane (35% owned) at¬†¬£11.5, and Lacazette (17.6% owned) at¬†¬£10.5. ¬†Those are the three highest-priced and owned strikers in the official game. With the numbers of fantasy entries into the fantasy jambalaya where do we find differentials and better yet where do we find players on a budget. ¬†So where are the extras shekels being scraped together for a useful yet intrinsically awesome third striker with differential appeal. ¬†I will tell you where you can find some ideas on this. ¬†This post. ¬†You got this far into the intro to quit now, so you might as well sit back relax and enjoy the bellowing words of usefulness. Cheers! Please, blog, may I have some more?
Wednesdays from now on are the day when we let nothing hide between friends. It is fairly simple: I will show you my team for the next three Wednesday‚Äôs leading up to the start of the season. I do expect that if you read this and that, you’ll do the exact same thing, because two heads are better than one, and 10 is even better. Get it? Cool. So this is draft number six on the year for me so far, the others were more fiddling out of boredom, but now we are starting to see news out and about pertaining to certain teams formations, transfers, and injury updates. So enjoy this early look at Smokey‚Äôs team and critique away, because I prolly deserve to be slandered for my thoughts and team selection. Cheers! Please, blog, may I have some more?
If you guessed from the title this week, this week is anyone’s guess. ¬†Unfortunately, the locking system for starting XI isn’t evolved enough to give us enough time to adjust our rosters accordingly. ¬†But with only a handful of teams with something to play for, hitting the right guy via the transfer wire is like throwing darts from 100 yards away. ¬†With Liverpool and City still battling for Champions league spots, and Arsenal hoping for the best in those outcomes… ¬†those games would be the high point of my interest as far as transfers go. ¬†If you are close in your mini-league to moving up a few spots, don’t be afraid to take a gamble, you have to think obtusely in order to make up points this week. ¬†You know why? ¬†Because there is no tomorrow. ¬†I mean, there is a tomorrow, but it doesn’t matter. ¬†So go to the store buy a new set of balls, and get weird. ¬†Here are some ideas for the week to get you through your transfer conundrum. ¬†It has been a hell of a year, one last Cheers for ya!Please, blog, may I have some more?
