New season, same ole Smokey goodness. We’re once again giving you our loves and hates for each week in a segment called “Start ‘Em and Sit ‘Em”.  You should know the drill, but if you don’t, we pick one option from each position.  Pretty cut and dry, and quite simply… basic.  It is more based on my feelings and gut approach for the week’s upcoming and changes from week-to-week.  I look at match-ups and form to formulate my craziness.  It’s like musical chairs, without all the screaming kids and regretful feeling of loss. So sit back, relax, and have a look at who we would start and sit based on match-ups and value. It’s Fantasy Premier League Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em, Week 2 (plus a sleeper/under-owned fella that should be owned and isn’t.)

I don’t have enough spam, give me the Razzball email newsletter!

The week one flow needs to chill a day.  Hence why we are here on a glorious Tuesday talking about the beautiful, official games.  Sitting a day and reading the news and injury reports... and maybe watch as many of the games as possible is the key.  Don't look at what just happened and chase points.  Yes, there are some guys that you should add immediately.  That impulse is the reason you should chill.  We just saw what they did, are they going to give the same double-digit return that they just did?  Will all the forwards from last week not score more than 8 points?  The answer to both of those questions is a resounding no.  But that doesn't mean you should make snap decisions and go to an all out defense and punt on the guys up top.  Yes, the value for defenders per point return is almost 25% better than the priciest forwards but the CS is a tempestuous beast that lures you in with chocolates and roses, then stands you up on Valentine's day.  Stay the course, as we are literally 2.5% of the way into the season .  If you are trailing already, good, you probably should be.  Not every decision everyone makes will be prosperous every week.  So if you are need of a change for price rise reasons, by all means act on it.  If you aren't we still have a international break in three weeks and banking the transfer to give yourself another week of +fixtures and stats could lead you to a better idea for a mini wildcard in a few weeks.  Patience wins the race, but don't miss the obvious.  Here are some of my own transfer ideas and views from what I noticed over the weekend.  Cheers!

For those of us familiar with a certain store that sells cheap wine, the title makes complete sense.  For those that don't, I basically just told you that it is a cheap wine sold at a store, so now you are caught up.  Keywords being wine and especially in conjunction with FPL defenders being cheap.  This is the last part of the three-part positional series talking about cheap options, and defender is where the biggest price pinching goes on.  Every year the search for the sexiest starting option happens in the preseason and with 4.0 the stepping off point, why not start there and shed some light on the guys that re being bandied about as not complete throw away fellas as they looked to be semi nailed on?  Since the strategy for defenders is to basically either get 3 or 5, the sense to me is that you either want to spend on them for the full five players or spend on three great options and save for the rest of your roster.  Best part about FPL is there is never a wrong answer because it is your team, your favorites, and your attention.  So avoiding the noise and flow of everyone else is a good and bad thing, but always in your own favor.  So here are some 4 and possibly some 4.5 buck chucks to start the FPL season.  Cheers!
You ever sit inside on a rainy day and put together a puzzle?  Well, that is what the official game is all about.  Filling in a puzzle.  Now take a heavy heaping off the top with owning Mo Salah at 13.o.  That is 13% of your opening day budget.  It is actually more when you factor in that you need four bench players that will take another 13-15% of you salary depending on how much of a bench commitment you are willing to run out.  So finding bargains and undermined pieces that fit your puzzle is key.  Currently there are 26 players that are being owned in over 10% of leagues, for this time of the year that is pretty template-y. So after the 7.0 striker post the other day, this is the second in the line of budget players that fit more into a budget rather than a spending spree.  Because owning Mo and maybe a City middie commits you to well over 20% of your budget to be sprayed around the rest of the 13 players. Not that much star power in that at every position if you think about the ownership rates of other players floating around.  Bargains are out there in undiscovered places or even in newer players to the Premier.  So unearthing them is a fun game that you can do on any day... doesn't have to be in the rain with your Grandma.  So here are the budget options that have caught my eye through the meat of your lineup.  Cheers!
The last rankings round-up.  The unfortunate things that are really fun and annoying is that they have to come to an unfortunate end.  Way too many unfortunate things there, but for the gist of spitting at soccer it makes last week look like heaven's sent.  I am still trying to forget it and GW 37 just ended yesterday.  too many negatives don't equal a positive.  That is why i am thankful that week 38 is finally here so we can move on from our woes and set the record straight with one more good week to go out on a top note.  There is no need to be wordy with an intro this week, we have done this 37 times previous.  To wax poetic would just not be my style as I like it short, sweet, brunette and with a great personality.  Wait, we're still talking about FPL players...right?  So with out further adieu here are my views on the rankings for week 38.  Good luck, it has been a pleasure bringing you fantasy output this year and I have one more post of usefulness this year.  Cheers!
Doubles rule the FPL world, just like O'Doyle rules the Billy Madison world.  We are here at the ultimate in fantasy weeks, the last double of the year.  Last chance to but through that ton score threshold and capitalize on those chip (whichever you are using).  With 12 teams doubling up it gives us some tough decisions transfer wise.  Who do we use in the forward  position/  How many single game week players do I trust?  If one or two, whom?   All tough questions because there are so many great in form single game week players, but two is still greater than one and 180 minutes trumps 90.  So transfer wisely when it comes to committing to single game week guys, no more than 2 should be gracing your entire roster and one of them is the back-up keeper.  This week's rankings much like other double game week affairs will be littered with twice the flavor for my love towards weekly returns.  So if you are torn between one guy or the other use my rankings to steer you to the promised land of fantasy points.  Enjoy the week's games and I'll see ya tomorrow with the start's and sit's.  Cheers!
Pull up a stool, first round is on me.  Welp folks go to the chicken coop, grab all the eggs and throw them in the week 26 DGW basket,  Chasing, points, leading or just having a snare of a season, it all shouldn't matter.  This is the funnest time of the year.  everyone scrambling around to get as many viable double asset players as possible into their rosters.  You should be no different. The point hits are out the window for the chipless folks.  Get the triple captain or BB fired up.  I kinda feel like Vince Lombardi right now trying to motivate the troops for fantasy battle.  If you googled fantasy battle and were looking for the Dungeons and Dragons fantasy advice column, thanks for stopping by.  With tons of teams playing a double this week and all of them with awesome differentials and price dumps building a roster this week via either a points hit or chip is going to be a fun ordeal. So do your research, play the price changes game and strap on.  It is going to be a fun ride for the next 10 days of build up and than games.  Here are the transfer ideas for DGW 36.  Cheers!

Week 36 comes rolling in the fantasy door like a kitten with soundproof shoes on.  Seriously it is so quiet in here and the noise is all surrounding the 2 goals that were conceded in another tournament that really don't matter until Liverpool give up 3 more.  Run-on sentences are fun, especially when the point you wanna prove falls on deaf 'Pudlian ears.  So moving on in the museum tour of rankings for the FPL week 36.  This is a severe set-up week, almost like an awful blind date setup by someone who doesn't really know your personality.  You appreciate the fixtures but don't really ever plan to call or text or use this people again because you are dating twins next week.  Twins!  And not of the Minnesota variety.  I always forget that not all the baseball jokes transfer correctly, but if you are into that sorta thing click on the baseball thing on monday's and Friday's as I continue my journey to the middle of popularity there.   So transfer wisely this week, only bring in players that have a double next week.  I mean it don't be stupid.  Cheers!
