I was going to write the day of the transfer window, but beer and holiday weekend gets in the way of productivity.  So if you have been waiting with baited breathe for the transfer Tuesday news then, well, breath again my friends.  We are now at a what you see is what you get roster situation until the January window.  In between that is a plate full of 18 games that stretch out to the new year.  If you started out blah and haven’t wild-carded yet… what are you waiting for?  Setting up your team for the next four-five games is important and will make or break your attention span of your team from the later part of the year.  Take advantage of the next few days, build the value of your team and get that accumulated value of your team close to 101.5.  Transfer Tuesday is about fun with some views on what’s what so take what I have to say not as scripture but more as a holding your hand as we cross the FPL street.  Happy transferring!  Cheers!

I don’t have enough spam, give me the Razzball email newsletter!

We’re once again giving you our loves and hates for each week in a segment called “Start ‘Em and Sit ‘Em”.  You should know the drill, but if you don’t, we pick one option from each position.  Pretty cut and dry, and quite simply… basic.  It is more based on my feelings and gut approach for the week’s upcoming and changes from week-to-week.  I look at match-ups and form to formulate my craziness.  It’s like musical chairs, without all the screaming kids and regretful feeling of loss. So sit back, relax, and have a look at who we would start and sit based on match-ups and value. It’s Fantasy Premier League Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em, Week 3 (plus a sleeper/under-owned fella that should be owned and isn’t).

The second installment of rankings is sometimes the favored.  Because who doesn’t like to score or assist to score.  In almost any format that last sentence holds sway.  But for now let’s just skip the images in your head and talk about the meat and potatoes of the FPL weekly rankings.  These fellas are more reliant on goals, assists and the BPS to drive them over the top.  So with match-ups, form and common sense as the wind to their ranking sail the list is based on just those three things.  So look at the schedule, trust the form and pray that I have some common sense when ranking these players.  Here are the Week 3 rankings for the midfielders and forwards in the FPL. Cheers!

Titles are the window to the articles soul.  So unless you are incapable of seeing an actual soul it is fairly cut and dry here.  Every week I look at the match-up, form and ownership of players, mix that with some common sense and a sprinkle of my own general “expertedness” and formulate a ranking system for you to use at home to help you build your FPL team from a week-to-week basis.  Sounds pretty simple, I mean the hardest thing you have to do is argue with them and actually read it.  So without further hullabaloo, here are the Week 3 rankings for the FPL, keepers and defense!

Every week I run down the weekly match-ups of all the matches on the slate and rank them based on price, ownership, and matches.  I then coagulate those in a high powered juice-maker of FPL proportions and come up with rankings for the week.  Sounds pretty cut and dry, and with this being Week 1, it becomes harder to rank because we only know what we know. And don’t know what we know, besides knowing what we don’t know.  There is no pattern, and it is all speculation.  So this separates the guessers from the experts in some form.  So feel free to critique, give me guff, or just stop on in to pat me on the back.  The season is here, and here starts the first rankings of Week 2.  Cheers!

If you enjoyed yesterday’s salad and appetizer courses, then you will love today’s main course and dessert.  I realize you can’t get anywheres in the official game without having a nodded on choice at keeper and a stellar yet filled with differential based defense.  But the real fun in building your roster is comprising it with as many affordable stars through the middle of the pitch and up top.   So just like yesterday’s rankings I mix in price, match and some good ole common sense.  The form comes later because after all this is just week one of a long journey my friends.  Some great matches are on the table for a lot of star players, so here’s hoping you can squeeze as many of them in as possible.  So just in case you needed a guiding hand here is week 1 of the FPL season rankings for Middies and Strikers.  Cheers!

Wednesdays from now on are the day when we let nothing hide between friends. It is fairly simple: I will show you my team for the next three Wednesday’s leading up to the start of the season. I do expect that if you read this and that, you’ll do the exact same thing, because two heads are better than one, and 10 is even better. Get it? Cool. So this is draft number six on the year for me so far, the others were more fiddling out of boredom, but now we are starting to see news out and about pertaining to certain teams formations, transfers, and injury updates. So enjoy this early look at Smokey’s team and critique away, because I prolly deserve to be slandered for my thoughts and team selection. Cheers!

When is excess a bad thing?  Welp, when you only have a limited number of spots at your disposal for fantasy goodies (that being 11 starting spots), and then narrow that down even further because of the three-max per team, it becomes interesting.  Next thing you do is add-in the prices of the ridiculously expensive players that City has at it’s disposal…  They have 5 midfielders over 8.0.  I will repeat that: 8.0!  Just for comparison’s sake, there are nine teams that don’t have one player with an 8.0 price tag.  I am not going to repeat myself again there though.  The worst part is, those are just the entry point to the starters for the Sky Blues.  I am not even here to discuss the cheap players who aren’t cheap anyways,  I am hear to talk about Kevin de Bruyne, Gabriel Jesus, and Sergio Aguero.  The over 10.0 super club.  I have seen in the preseason that they all have coexisted at some point or another on the pitch.  The problem is that if you wanna diversify your team, which one do you roster?  I am not going to climb to the mountain top and say you need a Man City offensive player, but I will whisper it carelessly.  Wham!
