Listen I get that the ole moniker is the key to a good offense is a good defense, but they don’t score the goals.  Or get the ladies.  Keepers and defense are predicated on the clean sheet.  It is a story as old as time and will never get old.  the differentials and variety of starting capabilities are what make defenders, more than goalies the point return parity of the official game.  Their prices dictate who and what we have and it steers us in the direction of affordability over form, and the elusive chase for the ever loving clean sheet.  with the occasional goal or assist.  With the international break finally caput we can get into the goods of fantasy for the next four weeks until the next international break.  Womp, womp.  So onto the here and now here are the week 8 rankings for the FPl.  Cheers!

Keepers:

  1. Ederson, Man City
  2. Hugo Lloris, Spurs
  3. Thibaut Courtois, Chelsea
  4. Petr Cech, Arsenal
  5. Joe Hart, West Ham
  6. Nick Pope, Burnley
  7. Kasper Schmeichel, Leicester
  8. Fraser Forster, Southampton
  9. Mathew Ryan, Brighton
  10. Lukasz Fabianski, Swansea
  11. David de Gea, Man United
  • City, Spurs and Chelsea re the best bets this week.
  • Hart has 3 cleans in his last 4 and West Ham are better as a whole then as parts.
  • Pope gets a new contract and people are forgetting whats his faces name…  Oh yea Heaton.
  • Fabianski so low.  Yea, Swans no cleans at home this year is not a good thing.
  • De gea is the tail end of the dragon this week.  Most owned goalie in the game gets the high powered, minus Mane “Pudlians.

Defense:

  1. Ben Davies, Spurs
  2. Nicolas Otamendi, Man City
  3. Marcos Alonso, Chelsea
  4. Kyle Walker, Man City
  5. Toby Alderweireld, Spurs
  6. Cesar Azpilicueta, Chelsea
  7. Nacho Monreal, Arsenal
  8. Serge Aurier, Spurs
  9. Stephen Ward, Burnley

  21. Harry Maguire, Leicester
  22. Danilo, Man City
  23. Victor Moses, Chelsea
  24. Maya Yoshida, Southampton
  25. Jose Fonte, West Ham
  • You will not notice many of the co-best defense in the rankings from United.  Liverpool takes the depth sting out of them this week.  Stalwart Antonio valencia is too much of a fantasy asset to sit.
  • All Man City, Spurs and Chelsea defenders are listed with good reason.
  • Stephen Ward is the best dollar for dollar player in the entire fantasy universe.  It’s a fact btw with stats and stuff.
  • S’oton will lull people to sleep this week and prolly not score any or give any up.
  • The Arsenal defense is a battered bunch coming back from break.  Mustafi and possibly Kolasinac are injured.
